[The staff are knowlegeable and extremely friendly] Quote: Mary
This makes a change for the harrogate's already poor reputation for being an unfriendly town. See someone smile and it's an added bonus.

I recently visited the Harrogate Arms and was very pleasantly suprised with what I found. I have been a Harrogate rsident for many years and have finally found a real home from home pub to frequent! The staff are knowledgable and extremly friendly and helpful, the setting is beautiful perfect for a stroll on a nice evening. The menu is great too, home cooked traditional food.
I was also informed during my visit that they are just starting up bed and breakfast. I strongly suggest giving this cosy pub a try!

Incidentally, I forgot to add there is nothing wrong with "raving" (as you call it) about other cities and towns and the places to visit. I understand this snide remark is directed at louis v by you b? I'm a harrogate resident but all the socialising I do including shopping I do anywhere else possible except harrogate. Doesn't that tell you something, b?. You should get out into the real world yourself then you will see there are good places to socialise etc.

amusingly I have just visited the eat&drink site and stumbled across the reviews. In reply to b, I'm amused even more by your lack of intelligence to realise that what you think is a typo spelling error of Harrogate by louis v was meant as Horrogate [as in "Horror"] and I cannot say I blame the poster for meaning it if that was the case. I could call it a lot worse.

<I suggest you go to a stinking congested town like Leeds or Bradford>... Eer, excuse me you mad mannered horrogate dk'head, as you are already unaware the fabulous & wonderful CITY of LEEDS has PRECINCTS. Which means the fabulous city that has hundreds of BRILLIANT FASHION SHOPS, & BRILLIANT RESTAURANTS, & BRILLIANT BARS, does NOT have TRAFFIC or CONGESTION running through them like stinking congested horrogate has. The wonderful people of Leeds also know how to SMILE and HOLD A DOOR OPEN and say THANK YOU. It goes with the TERRITORY.

/harrogate is a great place to live in and if you don't like it get out/ quote by j.taylor.
What a bad example you are to folk who are likely to read this pathetic statement. No wonder villagelass felt the way she did about harrogate. I am a harrogate resident myself and do not particularly like it, but I put up with it because I cannot do any other. I would not say it is a great place to live by a long shot, what?.. with 11 council estates, gridlocked roads and ripoff house prices. I would be out of here tomorrow if I could.
Were you an outsider who came to harrogate or were you brought up here?

jacki taylor, if you'de read my post properly you ignorant muppet you'de see I was not relating to the staff at the said pub, I was voicing my true opinion about where the pub is situated. I stand by my opinion about harrogate 200% and I suggest you stick there with the rest of the fakes. However, your attitude is typical of someone from there (vacuous, rude, & arrogant) Other cities would not welcome trash like you. Harrogate has a well known reputation for it's unfriendliness and other downmarket traits. I travel around (unlike you) so I see just how other towns and cities are, exceptional!. Harrogate is the pits and you're welcome to it.

to a Village Lass. Harrogate is not a stinking congested town and this pub is a lovely place with friendly helpful staff. I suggest you go to a stinking congested town (like Leeds Or Bradford) before you sound off about Harrogate. Harrogate is a great place to live in and if you don't like it get out
